2004 Buick LeSabre Will Not Crank Over

2004 Buick Lesabre Custom. 3800
Question: Car will not start neutral safety switch is good starter works when power is put to the start wire at the switch. There is no power going to the neutral safety switch.the ignition switch was replaced and it still will not work starter works fine.

Answer: If the starter works when you put power to it, the car should stay running with the key in the 'on' position. If it doesn't, then you have some other cause keeping the car from running. I'm assuming you turn the key and nothing happens. Try and start the car while in neutral and see if that helps. I don't think you have a bad neutral safety switch, but you never know. If the problem persists, and you're sure the starter, ignition switch, neutral safety switch, are all good you are going to have to get more involved in checking this out.

If the security light stays on or flashes when you try to crank the car, then you have a security problem, which is most likely a bad ignition cylinder. If that checks OK, you need to trace the wiring from the ignition switch to the starter and see if there are any breaks in the wiring or corrosion causing your problem.

Buick Allure Engine Knock

2007 Buick Allure, 3.8 litre Series 3 144,000 km Engine is running rough loud knocking at front of engine, no power and a lot of water coming out of exhaust.

Answer: You have a major e engine problem. Load knocking means an internal failure like a broken piston, connecting rod, bearing, rocker arm, etc. Water coming out exhaust could be because of the way it is running, or you are blowing antifreeze because of a blown head gasket or cracked intake manifold. Whatever the problem, you are going to have to have the engine taken apart to find the problem. Not a cheap repair.
