1997 GMC Jimmy Vortec Engine Has No Power

1997 GMC Jimmy Vortec v6. Question: when i give gas it has no speed increase, loud and jerks.

Answer: By what you describe, this does not sound like a transmission problem, unless the engine is revving up fine but the truck is not moving. It sounds like the engine is either running very bad or has a bad misfire. Misfires or an engine with no power can be caused by a lot of things.

Answer: You would need to have a scan of any stored computer codes. Check fuel pressure. Low pressure would cause no power. This can be caused by a plugged fuel filter or failing fuel pump. Misfire can be bad spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, ignition coil, or fuel injector problem. You could also have a bad sensor causing an engine problem. A plugged catalytic convertor, or many other possibilities.

Chevy Blazer SES Light

2000 Chevy Blazer lt Engine Size : Vortec 4.3 Question : i was in car once today no problems and then i go back out to get in it and the service check engine light came on.

Answer: When the check engine light comes on, it means there is a problem with one or more of the engine sensors or emissions system on the vehicle. You will need to get a scan of the codes at a shop or free at and auto parts store to find out exactly what code was set and then they can begin to diagnose the problem from there. That's all the help I can give you with such limited information.

P0171 and P0174 lean on both banks is either a vacuum leak, low fuel pressure or the fuel injector spider is no good. With a misfire code P0300, these same things could be the cause.
