How To Program and Add New Keys When We Lost One

2008 Chevy Cobalt. I had to get a new key because the other one broke. I got a paper on how to reprogram it so the new key would start. I just found my second key. Can I reprogram that key, and if i can, can you tell me where to get it or can you give me the program to do it?

Answer:With a working key, you can add another key by performing this procedure...

•With a previously learned master key, turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
•Turn OFF the ignition and remove the key.
•Within 10 seconds of turning OFF the ignition, insert the key to be learned and turn ON the ignition. The vehicle has now learned the new key.

I am tring the instructions from the dealership to re-program a new key for my 2007 chev colbalt. When I start the turn on process the carlock icon comes up and starts to blink on and off. I try the 10min instuction but the icon does not turn off it continues to blink. What is my problem?

I could be wrong here but it may be the fact that you don’t have a keyless entry key fob (I’m guessing you don’t) I lost my keys, tried the 10-10-10 method and it didn’t reset either. When I found my keys (I’m lucky) I was able to program 2 additional keys in 30 seconds total
