2003 Trailblazer Service Charging System Warning

Problem with my 2003 Chevy Trailblazer LTZ. Battery not charging. Service charging system warning on dash. Bought a new battery. How to make dash warning go away. cant see mileage at this time.

Answer: If this warning light is still on, then there is still a problem in the system. Just the fact that you disconnected the battery to change it, this would have cleared the warning. You need to have the charge system checked. Possible alternator problem, charging system sensing problem, or other electrical system problem.

Chevy Trailblazer Code P0172 P0134

My 2003 Chevy Trailblazer went into the shop for Service engine light on. The code came back as P0172 and P1034. I was told it  was a shifter solenoid and they could not give me a price, except that it will cost about 300.00 to pull the transmission and then check to  see what the problem is. I just wanted to know what the price is  for this part if that is the problem. I don't want to do this if it is going to be over the top.

Answer: A code P0172 is an oxygen sensor code, and p1034 does not exist. Not sure why they are talking about transmission solenoid. If the last code is actually a p0134, that is also an oxygen sensor code for position 1. P0172 is a rich condition as read by the oxygen sensors. There a a few control module updates that may fix these codes that are available from the dealer only. I would do that first before just replacing sensors. It is amazing how reprogramming computers on today's vehicles cn fix so many different things.Normally reprogramming will take care of problem. If reprogram does not correct all conditions, it will have to get furhter diagnosis. That are many, many things that can cause rich condition codes.
