Question: PO 172 code engine misfires on at least 2 cylinders when I pull a hill and the engine is under load, but not everytime I pull a hill. Engine not lacking power when it is running good check engine light keeps coming on. I have changed the O2 sensors and the issue keeps coming back. Changed timing belt around 2000 miles ago and have not been bothered till now again.

Question: I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.2L V-8, about 253K miles. Used oil analysis is showing very high nickel (24 ppm in oil used for 3270 miles). A previous test done 61k miles earlier was high but not critical (11 ppm in 2045 miles). Both tests show very low levels of other wear metals, well in the normal range. Does anybody know what parts in this engine may be coated with or plated with nickel that might be wearing out?

Question: The Chrysler Town and Country van has the electric door package.The front doors work just fine.
The rear doors will not open or unlock when the button on the remote is pushed. I checked the battery, not the issue. When I wanted to open the rear doors prior I would hit the respective door button on the remote and the door would open. Now, the door lock buttons will not pop up and the doors will not open. I noticed that if I lift the door lock by hand and then I hit the door button on the remote it will open. Also, when I try and hit the rear door button on the overhead console, when the rear doors are locked they still will not work.

Question: I've got a 2005 Dodge Durango that when you turn hard to the right either goes in between gears or is doing something else and the car won't move till you rev to a higher RPM at which point something doesn't sound right and the vehicle seems to make is lag. What am I looking at here?

Question: I can drive 10 miles or 300 miles and my van won't restart for about 15 to 30 mins or when it cools down. The temp never goes over half way. I have put on a new ignition coil pack and a new fuel pressure regulator, what do I do next. Thanks and GOD BLESS.

Question: I was driving my 2004 Town & Country van about 70 – 75 when the rpm rev’d up to 4500. The van would still move, so I slowed down to about 40 mph. the tach was still at about 4000. The ABS light started blinking and the check engine light came on. I drove about 5 miles before the check engine light came on.

Question: One morning I went out to us the van and I noticed the speedometer was not working, and the van would not shift out of first gear. Also all the indicator lights for the park, reverse, drive were on. I replaced the input and output speed sensors, with still no change.Any ideas. Thanks. Bob

Question: Having Large gas usage problems and many codes replaced the O2 sensor, water temperature sensor, spark plugs and wires and distributor cap still have not fixed problem. Was wondering what could be the problem and how to fix it. The vaccum seems to be ok. There is no restriction in the exhaust. The o2 sensor p0138 was on the pre-catalyst sensor came on saying high voltage. Wondering solution to problem the oxygen sensor was replaced by a mechanic.

Question = My husband has a 96 dodge dakota sport with very low milage (17,000) that we inherited from his step father. Since we have had it, it has been dying, mostly while it is idling, but it does not die every time it is ideling. No check engine light has come on. Any idea what would cause dying upon ideling that would not cause the check engine light to come on? Thank you!

Question: My check engine light that had come on years ago,had it fixed and it came back on in a short while after? So I left it , its been on for three or more years now and my Van still runs great. The auto machanic said it's a flaw of some type and not to worry since its been running perfect for so long and my heat gauge has not changed since I bought it new in 2003? So what I am trying to say is: should I try one more time to fix it or just forget about it?

Question: Hi, I have a problem with my Grand Caravan when turning corners it makes a pulsating noise more so when stopped then go to turn it really vibrates like at the front end from the tire it seems. Could it be a tie rod on the right side ? Thats where its is the right side. Also the power steering pump I think is making a whining sound when driving and turning corners,could that means its on its way out? Other than that it drives great!! Thanks.

Question: We went to repair shop .. They read code.. P0137 said it is the oxygen sensor.. Bank 1 Side 2 .. He wrote down the following... po137 b1 s2 o2 sensor ... He said it is the one on the back of the converter ,does that sound correct ??? If so How difficult is it to change & get to , to be able to change it ..??? Thanks Jack

Question: My car broke down two weeks after i got it .. I got a oil change a week before it broke down.. It wont accelerate when you press the gas it dies.. but it starts ok.. I had the distributor replaced and fuel filter but it's still not acting like it's getting gas but every shop i have took it to can't figure out whats wrong with it. What could it be? I really need some ideas.  Been in the shop for a year.

Question: Car always runs real smooth, but recently started stumbling periodically. Tried gas treatment and higher octane gas with no success. 68,000 original miles, i've put about 30,000 on and haven't done anything except change the oil. Do you think it could be a gas filter, EGR valve, or does it need a complete tuneup?

Repairs: Drained gas tank, changed spark plugs, changed coil, changed distributor cap, changed rotor button.
question = what happens if you accidentally mix, and run, kerosene in a gasoline engine?
The other day the gas tank was low and i put about three gallons of kerosene in the tank without knowing it was kerosene. i drove the truck about fifteen or twenty miles before the engine got to hot and i had to stop, i knew that it wasn't running right for some reason. i had the truck towed home and now it wont start at all i've done all of the things above and I'm at a loss. if you could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it.

I just replaced the light bar in the right tail light of my 2004 Ram1500 Hemi.  After replacing the bar everything works, but the "lamp out" signal in dash is still on.  Do I have to reset something or will it turn off by itself? Thanks Debie.
