Volkswagon Engine Light After Replacing Sensor

Volkswagon Jetta TDI Engine Size : 1.9
Question : engine light coming on after changing air mass sensor.

Answer: I am going to need a little more information. Did you replace the Mass airflow sensor because of a check engine light and code, or did you replace it for some other reason, and now the check engine light is on the dash? Did you have a scan of the codes yet? If so, what are the codes.

Jetta Whine and Knocking

Hi I have a VW Jetta 2006 1.6 petrol, I have 2 current problem, first one is when your in gear and set off the car has a slight whining noise and in second but as you speed up you can't hear it. The other problem is as I'm coming to a stop there is a knocking noise just at the front right wheel.

Answer: For the whine noise, this could be either a belt noise, one of the pulleys such as alternator or even in the transmission. If the noise goes away when the the transmission goes into third gear, then the noise is from the transmission. A whine noise from the belt or a pulley would be there even when not moving.

A knocking noise at a front wheel could be a worn ball joint, control arm bushing or a strut. Get the front end checked out as soon as possible. Any of these items can break and cause loss of steering.
