No codes, will not accelerate with throttle position and will hear a rattle also, air intake clean, and all data values on scan tool appears normal. Not sure if trans problem or what, does drive ok with normal driving, but with power demand, just stumbles and not a misfire problem looking at scan values.

2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 3800 series 2.

Engine light stays on.
Question = engine light stays on, if I floor it light blinks then stays on again. is there something wrong?

Answer: Yes, there absolutely is something wrong. Anytime the check engine light is on, there is a code(s) stored in the computer that is related to what part of the emissions system is having a problem.

Question: i have a 1998 Pontiac grand prix gtp and the other day while running at high speed it felt like there was a miss , then i had to stop at a red light and when i hit the gas the car wouldn't move. I tried to put it in park then reverse and then drive then 2 and 1st and no mater where i put the shifter i would not move.

1988 Pontiac Grand Prix 2.8L V6.

Replace Serpentine belt and power steering pump
Question = Belt broke on the freeway, car overheated (Daughter driving). I replaced the belt and added water to the radiator. Car starts fine and will idle but as soon as you give it gas it stalls. LOTS of white smoke.

GM Computer codes = Manifold Absolute Pressure ( AKA MAP ). Crank & Cam Position Sensors, Ignition Module, Plugs replaced, checked fuses.

Question: Give as much detail as possible. : will disabling torque converter solenoid solve bucking & check engine light or does it have to be changed? which wire do i cut on trans connection plug to disable this solenoid? is the trans plug the same as the Oldsmobile intrigue 3.8?

Problem with my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix. Engine size = 3.8L (VIN k). Repairs for this problem = EGR Valve caught on fire, can't find replacement part.

The EGR Valves we have found (internet, parts dealers) will not fit my car. They have a plug on the top, whereas the one we need has no plug but instead has a vacuum hose.

Hello, I have a 2000 Grand Prix with the 3.1 in it. The temp gauge isn't working and the cooling fans will not come on. I was told that there is more then one sensor and I'm having trouble with the location. There is only one I see which is right at the side of the thermostat housing and is a three probe plug in.

Question: My 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP's CJ2 Digital Heater - A/C Control is putting out only 0.03 volts at pin C11 when the CJ2 connector is back probed and the defroster is set to high. I have performed the air conditioning diagnostics ("Blower Motor Inoperative at Any Speed," pages. 1-186 and 1-187) several times always reaching the final step, # 29, which is to replace the Heater - A/C Control.

Problems with my 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix.
Engine size 6 cyl.
Warning lights = Effort Steering, Service ABS, Service Tire Pressure
Just replaced transmission a few months ago! Also speedometer not reading correctly.
This appears to be a problem as it is all over the internet. Is there a known fix, and has GM covered any of it?

1995 Pontiac Grand Prix ABS and Brake lights on.

The brakes were done and the window switch was worked on the car and there was a new water pump put in.
I bought the car on Saturday used. I test drove it and it ran fine but the ABS lights was on. The next day the drivers side window stopped working. The next day drove it.

P0440 - P0455
The control module tests the evaporative emission (EVAP) system for a large leak. The control module monitors the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor signal to determine the EVAP system vacuum level. When the conditions for running are met, the control module commands the EVAP canister purge valve OPEN and the EVAP vent valve CLOSED .
