Buick Century 2001 Engine size = 3.1. Question: I have a Buick Century that was given to us by my motherinlaw, the battery died, now the radio has LOC on it, I don't know the code, she can't remember. I have looked through all the initial selling paperwork and car manual but nothing is written down.
From your prior discussion with another Buick owner it looks like I can get my radio code the number by pressing down the 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 buttons and holding for 6 seconds then the AM-FM button to get the next 3 digits. but there appears to be another step of getting the factory back up code by calling Delco electronics Corp is this correct for my 2001 vehicle as well??? Thank you in advance, it's amazing how quiet it is without music to travel by....Peter
Answer: Yes, that will work on your vehicle. It's usually preset 2 and 3 that you hold down for a few seconds to get the first digits needed, the hold AM/FM to get the last digits. Unfortunately, the only way to get the factory back up code is to have a GM dealer call for you, which they will usually charge you up to $100 to get. Our website will get the code you need for $9.95. Please visit the following web address to get your code.
