2005 Buick Terraza Van Heater

Post by Walter D. » Tue Dec 02, 2014 4:26 pm

Our Granddaughter's Buick Van heats good on driver's side and rear heater but only blows cold air on the passenger side front. I assume there is a duct flap that is not working. Is it electrical or mechanical? Appreciate any help, suggestion, on repair.

Thanks,

Yes, it sounds like you have a problem with what is called a temperature door actuator. It is a small motor that turns the temperature doors in the dash to either hot or cold. There is one for each side of the dash.

Can this be accessed by owner or does it require a Service Tech.?

A mechanic will have to replace this part for you. It must be indexed correctly and the system relearned.
