Steering Problems

Read about some of the common causes for regular or electric steering problems.

Extremely hard to turn steering wheel p/s fluid full no visible leaks or damage to the undercarriage I was stuck in the snow and my car bottomed out and now is extremely hard to turn steering wheel and it seems like it doesn't want to shift amongst other things.

A wobble in the steering wheel feels like the wheel is shaking to the left and right. This may get worse the faster you are driving. Almost feels like the wheel has a mind of its own. If severe enough, then it may feel like like it wants to jump right out of your had.

There is some noise in all power steering systems.

One of the most common is a hissing sound. The hissing sound is most evident at standstill parking. A hiss is a high frequency noise.

The noise is present in every valve and results from a high velocity fluid passing over the valve orifice edges.

Code P0171 Fuel Trim Error

The powertrain control module (PCM) controls the air/fuel metering system in order to provide the best possible combination of driveability, fuel economy and emission control. Fuel delivery is controlled differently during Open and Closed Loop. During Open Loop, the PCM determines fuel delivery based on sensor signals, without oxygen sensor (O2S) input.
