Security light on 2003 Chevy Impala Issues with the Security light & car not starting. At times, it acts as if the car is possessed! We have had luck with turning the key into the start position & waiting 10 minutes & starting again. Yesterday after work, that did not work. I tried that 3 times with no luck. While waiting for a ride home, I tried turning the key one more time & the car started right off. Started this morning & when I left for lunch.

Answer: Looks like you've covered just about everything there is, except the big one. Basically, the only thing left would be a blown cylinder head gasket. Have seen this many times on the 3400 engines over the years. Usually it's just the back cylinder head,

Question: My wife had a remote car starter installed about 3 weeks ago. 2 days ago there was a meltdown in the engine compartment. 1st: the radio will not play; It seems there is a loose connection in the speaker wires. The radio is on and it lights up, but the lryics, station and message info comes on. Every once in awhile the radio starts playing for a short time- two to twenty minutes.

2nd: The water temperature gauge and A/C compressor quit working. The weather seems to be a factor when high moisture. I was thinking there may be a terminal connection that could be loose, corroded or both that have all these things in common.

Problem with my 2006 Chevrolet Impala LS V6 Service battery charging system. Question: The car would not start or even turn over. I tried battery charger overnight, but it was still showing less than 12 volts although it did start. It is my elderly neighbors car and they insisted that they wanted to go ahead and get a new battery. I got a new battery for them and changed it out.

Answer: Well, 2 of the two most common problems are a faulty headlight switch, or a Body Control Module (BCM).
