I have a Chevy Malibu and brought it into the dealership because the check engine light was on. I was told there was a fuel trim rich code stored in the computer. They replaced the fuel pressure regulator and sent me on my way. Not one mile from the dealership the check engine light came back on, so I turned around and took it back. They checked it out again and it still the same code.

2000 Malibu 3.1l shows TPS low voltage code. I replaced the TPS and the code continues to pop up. I cleared the memory and still it show the code. The car starts up fine at a cold start. Once it warms up the idle slowly dissipates until it completely shuts of. Read more...

Question: 2000 Chevy Malibu 3.1 V6. What would cause bucking when I start off its fine it changes no problem i feel it shifting very smoothly even on the highway it's OK except when trans in that 4th gear and hit a hill or grade and it goes to shift back to 3rd gear it bucks a few times then it fine again.

I found a relearn procedure on the web. the one that you turn the key on for 10 minutes a few times, then it resets and I can start the car. Finally took it to a mechanic.

Question: I have a 2000 chevy malibu LS 3.1 L V6 and cant get the cv axle off the transaxle spindle .

Answer: Do you mean you cannot get the axle to come out of the transmission? If so, you need to use 2 pry bars 180 degrees apart from each other. Get them between the axle and the transmission and pry evenly. You need to sort of "pop" it out. Read more...
